Psychopsis papilio (Lindley) H. G. Jones

This incredible species was once a well known member of the genus Oncidium Sw. from the section Glanduligera. It needs intermediate to warm conditions to do really well. The erect inflorescence remains active for a number of years, where large single flowers are borne in succession from the apex of the stem.
