Maxillaria uncata Lindl.
A quite wide spread species found through out Central America and into Brazil, Peru, and Venezuela as an epiphyte in swamps, dense forest and or dry conifer forest. Although it is to be found at variable elevations, in culture it needs warmth to flower. It will grow in temperate climates as a landscape subject or bush house plant, but it will not flower. Grown warm however, it will flower 2-3 times per year.
